Gytha Postma joins the Supervisory Board

Gytha Postma has joined the Supervisory Board of the Fryske Akademy (which also oversees the Mercator European Research Centre on Multilingualism and Language Learning since 1987). With her appointment, the Supervisory Board is once again at full strength.

The Supervisory Board oversees the policy and management conducted by the Executive Director. The Supervisory Board currently consists of Wim Kleinhuis (chair), Prof. Keimpe Algra, Prof. Jan Don, Rixt N. Heegsma, and Gytha Postma MBA.

About Gytha Postma

Postma is a director and manager with extensive experience in organisational leadership, education, healthcare and supervision. Throughout her career, she has held various managerial and supervisory roles within both the healthcare sector and education. In her day-to-day role, she is Director of Frisius Academy at Frisius MC. Postma has a business and education-focused academic background, having studied at Nyenrode, TSM Business School and NHL University of Applied Sciences.

Current roles 

  • Director of Frisius Academy at Frisius MC (since 2025)
  • Owner of GAP Interim Management (since March 2023)
  • Member of the Supervisory Board of Adenium (also Vice-Chair and Chair of the Remuneration Committee since 2021)
  • Member of the Supervisory Board of Connexa (also Chair of the Audit Committee since 2025). 

Previous roles 

Postma has held senior positions at, among others:

  • Leeuwarden Medical Centre
  • Friesland Youth Services 

She also has governance experience as a member of:

  • the Supervisory Board of Friesland College
  • the Supervisory Board of Firda
