Jelske Dijkstra at the NPLD Steering Group & Coppieters Campus, Palma de Mallorca (ES)

The NPLD-Coppieters Campus 2026 is being organised jointly by the NPLD and the Coppieters Foundation. The theme of this year’s Campus is “Shaping the Future of Linguistic Diversity: The Role of Young People”. Ahead of this Campus, the NPLD steering group will meet for its annual meeting.

Oer NPLD

The Mercator European Research Centre is a long-standing associate member of the  Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity (NPLD). Mercator’s representative is a member of the steering committee of the NPLD. NPLD is a European wide network working in the field of language policy and planning for Constitutional, Regional and Small-State Languages across Europe. NPLD includes governments both national and regional, universities and associations as its members. 

In 2023, Mercator joined the NPLD University Network (UniNet), a network of universities and research institutions active in the fields of national minorities, multilingualism, minority languages, language rights, language policy and language education.  

Oer Coppieters

The Coppieters Foundation is a think tank focusing on European and Global affairs. It develops new ideas and produces knowledge on the management of cultural and linguistic diversity, collective and minority rights, multi-level governance, decentralisation, state and constitutional reform, statehood processes, self-determination, migration, peace studies and the protection of human rights.
