An overview of our past activities

With news about, among other things, 25 year anniversary of the treaties Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities (FCNM) and European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages (ECRML), the demand of the NPLD to include Catalan, Basque and Galician in the Online Language Support tool, a Friulian interface for Facebook, a call on the Netherlands to strengthen the use of Frisian, Limburgish and Low Saxon, and much more!

In this extensive report on 2022, the Mercator European Research Centre on Multilingualism and Language Learning is looking back on its activities. These activities can be divided into research, documentation services, the application of research outcomes, (international) events and (joint) projects.

LANGSCAPE & ENROPE, of which Mercator is part, invite early-career researchers to explore multilingual teaching practices with them in Berlin.

This Regional Dossier is the third and fully updated edition of the dossier 'The Basque language in education in France'. This Regional Dossier was updated in 2023 by Beñat Lascano, PhD. He is a teacher of Basque in secondary education in Iparralde and holds a doctorate in Basque studies. The first edition of this Regional Dossier was written by Mark Stuijt in 1998, and the second edition by Daniel Sanchez in 2007.

This project focuses on new speakers of West Frisian in the province of Fryslân, in the north of the Netherlands. The project outputs include research-informed teaching materials for Afûk educators, a research report for the Province of Fryslân, and a research-informed language promotion campaign.
