Researcher Scarse in Bilbao for PLURILINGMEDIA
PLURILINGMEDIA is a European project (COST Action) that brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to strengthen and promote research on media in European regional and minority languages. PLURILINGMEDIA aims to bridge the gap between academia and media practice, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue and the sharing of knowledge.
Working groups
Mercator has been asked to participate in two of the project's four international working groups: 'Legislation and Standards' and 'Language Vitality'.
A group of thirteen European researchers and experts from the working group focusing on how laws and standards impact minority and regional languages in the media will meet in Bilbao. They will also visit EiTB, the Basque broadcaster.
Konferinsje
The first PLURILINGMEDIA conference, on the theme of "Media and Language Vitality" (Language Vitality Working Group), will be held on December 4th and 5th in Warsaw, Poland.
More information about PLURILINGMEDIA can be found on the project website.
