Much focus on Frisian language research at International Conference on Minority Languages

The XIX International Conference on Minority Languages will be held in Wales between 20 and 24 June 2023. It is thirty years since the ICML was last held there. Host of this year's edition is the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. In addition to a wide range of academic papers, panels and posters, ICML 2023 aims to present participants with a site-specific sociolinguistic experience of contemporary Wales and provide in-depth knowledge of practitioner-based case studies as well as opportunities for networking and contact building. 

During this edition, too, much attention will be paid to the Frisian language. Several (former) colleagues of the Mercator European Research Centre, NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences and the University of Groningen will present the results of their research there:

In 2019, the 17th edition of the International Conference on Minority Languages was held in Leeuwarden (Fryslân, NL) and was organised by Mercator European Research Centre/ Fryske Akademy.
