  • Added value multilingualism
    The Added value-project is a comparative research project of the linguistic situation in the Basque Autonomous Community and in Friesland.
  • Antillean toddler project
    Papiamentu – Dutch language developments project “More languages, more opportunities”. This project for the improvement of bilingual language development is meant for young Antillean mothers and their child (2-4 years).
  • Endangered Languages
    The work related to Endangered Languages (Phonetics and Ethnolinguistics) at the Fryske Akademy and the Mercator European Research Centre is focused on the study of language contrasts, language contact and language change.
  • Mercator Network
    The EU funded Mercator Network of Language Diversity Centres is the successor of the existing Mercator Network. The Mercator Network will contribute to the connection of multilingual communities across Europe, promotion of knowledge sharing and facilitation of structured exchange of best practice and cutting edge initiatives through its program of activities.
  • Network of Schools
    The Network of Schools is a network of multilingual schools in minority language areas in Europe.
  • Regional dossiers
    One of the principle goals of the Mercator European Research Centre on Multilingualism and Language Learning is to gather, store and distribute information on minority language education in European regions. With the establishment of Regional dossiers we intend to meet this need.
  • Study on the Devolvement of Legislative Power & Provisions
    The Study on the Devolvement of Legislative Power & Provisions is a comparative analysis of eight EU regions with a Regional or Minority Language, including the Frisian region.
