The director of the Frisian Academy and a representative of the Mercator Research Centre visited the Basque Language Academy on October 8 and 9 2009.
The Basque Language Academy “Euskaltzaindia” celebrated on October 8 and 9 2009 its 90th anniversary in San Sebastian, in the Basque Country. The director of the Frisian Academy and a representative of the Mercator Research Centre were invited and participated in the two-day event. Besides an interesting cultural programme also topics like cooperation, joint projects and options for the creation of a European Network of Language Academies were discussed.
Fryslân and the Basque Autonomous country maintain already for years a good professional relationship. The Mercator Research Centre / Fryske Akademy and the Basque Ministry of Education have a five-year agreement on cooperation in research, the Network of Schools and the organisation of seminars.
